Early years

Sam's first big break came when filming The Ugly, a New Zealand film when he was aged 14. He attended Westlake Boys High School, where he was involved with Basketball. He pursued a professional career and played Basketball for the National Basketball League (New Zealand) team North Harbour Kings.

Wallace graduated with a degree in science from the University of Auckland in 2002.

Present

Wallace was a presenter for the children's program Sticky TV from 2004 until 2010. He started in 2004 with Julia Bloore, and more recently hosted with Drew Neemia, Walter Neilands and Kanoa Lloyd.

He finds working with children to be rewarding, and likes seeing them shine on Sticky TV "My philosophy is you do it, and you show the kids amazing ways they can exceed their own expectations and experiment with things they wouldn’t usually do."

Wallace is featured in the 2007 Auckland Cat Rescue calendar to help fund the work they do with unwanted cats and kittens. Called Paws for a Cause he features alongside local male celebrities, including Joel Defries, Blair Strang, Nathan Rarere and Iain Stables.

Wallace's main love is motorsport. He's passionate about his Ducati Monster s4rs Testastreta, and also owns a 2001 Subaru Impreza WRX. Sam also coached the Westlake Girls High School Premier Basketball team in 2003. The team featured Lisa Wallbutton, who now competes in the New Zealand Tall Ferns.

He now presents the weather on TV One's Saturday Breakfast
